Limbe Flood Response 2023: Community Assessment and Hygiene Awareness

CADEF Cameroon joined South West WASH Cluster partners, with support from UNICEF, in responding to flooding and landslides in Limbe. The August 2023 activity record documents community needs assessments and hygiene awareness.

Teams visited Clacks Quarter, Livanda, Upper Mawoh and Lower Mawoh to assess the needs of affected households and families.

Community awareness activities covered cholera prevention, hygiene promotion and household water treatment. These activities formed part of the preventive WASH response following the floods.

Local engagement helped the response teams understand household conditions and share practical prevention information. This article records activities undertaken; subsequent WASH distribution is documented in the November 2023 relief story.
